Commuters attempting to make their way home were told to expect 80 minute delays after a three-car pile-up on the M27 westbound between Junction 12 near Port Solent and Junction 11 at Fareham.

The accident has caused mayhem for commuters in Portsmouth and Havant after three lanes of the motorway were blocked.

But the traffic woe is now slowly starting to ease.
