Man dies after Chichester road accident

A man has died following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Chichester.

Emergency services were called to Florence Road just before 11.30am last Wednesday, where a 65-year-old pedestrian had suffered a serious head injury in a collision with a red Kia Venga.

Police said the injured man was flown by Air Ambulance to St George’s Hospital, in Tooting, but died in the early hours of Friday July 22.

The driver of the car, a 77-year-old man from Bognor Regis, and his wife, 83, were both unhurt in the incident, police added.

Florence Road and Oving Road were temporarily closed while emergency services were at the scene.
