Post mortem expected after Gosport bridge leap tragedy

A post mortem is expected to be carried out on the man found dead after a Gosport bridge tragedy

The family of 27-year-old Michael Stratton, who was last seen in Clayhall Road on Saturday afternoon, have been informed that a body was found in the water yesterday.

Police said they still had to formally identify Michael, who is believed to have jumped off the Jackie Spencer Bridge - known locally as the black bridge.

Hampshire Police said yesterday: ‘A body has been found in water in Gosport this morning.

‘The family of missing 27-year-old Michael Stratton has been informed.’
