UPDATE: M27 reopens after car crash

A DRIVER had a lucky escape this morning after a car crashed and flipped onto its roof along the M27.

Two people were injured in the smash, which happened shortly after 8am on the eastboud carriageway just before the Junction 12 exit for Portsmouth.

Two cars, a Seat and a Hyundai, were involved, Hampshire Constabulary said.

But police added that two people suffered minor injuries, with the motorist in the flipped car having climbed his way out before emergency services arrived.

The collision had closed three lanes of the M27, causing delays of up to 90 minutes for commuters.

However, the road is now reopening.
