Wickham Horse Fair: Which roads will be closed tomorrow as Hampshire County Council confirms arrangements
Wickham Horse Fair is taking place in the heart of the village tomorrow.
Motorists are contending with road closures and diversions as the annual Wickham Horse Fair returns to the village.
Hampshire County Council has enforced a series of ‘traffic management measures’ that will be in place from Tuesday, May 19, to Thursday, May 21, while the fair takes place on Wednesday, May 20.
Wickham Square will closed to traffic from midday on Tuesday, May 19, and is due to reopen at 10am on Thursday, May 21.
The A334 will also be shut between the junctions with Blind Lane and Titchfield Lane and the A32 at School Road during the same period.
Signed diversion routes will be in place throughout the closures. Northbound traffic will be diverted via the A32, Corhampton Roundabout and the B3035, while southbound drivers will be directed along Winchester Road, Kitnocks Hill, the A3051 and the A27.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times, and arrangements will be made for residents and businesses to access nearby properties where possible.
Bus services will also be affected during the closures. Operators have been advised to follow a diversion route using Forest Road, Bishops Wood Road and the A32.
A temporary bus stop will be installed on the A32 near the junction with Wyckham Field while the restrictions are in place.
Passengers are being advised to check the latest travel information directly with their bus operator before travelling.
