Train passengers in Portsmouth and Fareham warned of major service disruption this weekend

Some lines around Southampton Central will be closed all day on Sunday for work on the lines around the docks.

All lines in the Fareham area will also be closed for maintenance work.

South Western Railway has said a revised timetable will be in place for all services passing through Southampton Central.

Trains to and from London Waterloo may be revised, and bus services will run between Eastleigh and Portsmouth Harbour, and Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour.

Services may also be affected on Saturday evening and passengers travelling after 10pm are encouraged to check the operator's website. 

Other train services 

CrossCountry trains will run through Southampton Central but will be retimed.

Great Western Railway services will be replaced by buses between Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour.

Southern services will run to Portsmouth instead of Southampton Central. Bus services will run between Southampton Central and Havant.
