A27 crash: Driver injured after car leaves road between Emsworth and Chichester

A MOTORIST has suffered minor injuries after a car left the road on the A27.

The incident resulted in all lanes being shut on the eastbound carriageway of the road in Emsworth, between A259 Havant Road and Cathedral Way, for several hours.

All lanes on the A27 have now reopened.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: ‘Just after 10am a car left the eastbound carriageway and crashed on the A27 between Emsworth and Chichester and the driver was reported to have sustained minor injuries.

‘No other vehicle or person was reported to have been involved.

‘The road was closed in both directions while emergency services attended to the casualty and debris across the road, but was reopened in both directions just after midday.’

Motorists were facing 90 minute delays earlier following the incident on the A27.

ROMANSE are reporting that delays are now easing.
