A27 in Tichfield closed as gas pipe repairs underway in Southampton Road

A MAIN road running through Fareham has been closed while ‘urgent’ gas network repairs are being carried out.

Gas company SGN is carrying out repairs that have closed Southampton Road in both directions between Segensworth roundabout and St Margaret's roundabout, with diversions in place.

In a statement, the company said: ‘We’re working to keep local homes and businesses safe and warm by carrying out urgent repairs to our gas network in Southampton Road (A27).

‘We’ve temporarily closed the road in both directions between Segensworth Roundabout and St Margaret’s Roundabout. A signed diversion is in place.

‘All being well, we hope to reopen the road on Thursday February 18.’
