Car flips onto roof in Hayling crash
A 74-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman from Cosham were in the car travelling north along Beach Road when their black Hyundai hit a stationary car and overturned shortly after 10am.
Mary Smith, a Hayling Island resident, said she was shocked when she arrived at the scene of the accident.

Hide Ad‘You don’t see accidents often that are that severe on Hayling,’ she said.
Mrs Smith said she spoke to friends of the couple, who were travelling behind them in another car.
She said: ‘They had been staying at Sinah Warren Hotel on a bit of a break and they had been in their vehicle going off the island.
‘They hit another car, flew up in the air and landed on the roof.’

Hide AdA Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said 25 firefighters from Hayling Island, Havant and Cosham fire stations were involved in the rescue.
‘We extracated them from the car our passed them over to the ambulance service, the spokesman said.
Beach Road was closed between St Marys Road and Hollow Lane during the rescue, but has since been reopened.
A police spokesman said the couple suffered slight injuries.
An air ambulance flew to the scene and landed in West Town Park, but Mrs Smith said the couple were taken by road ambulance to hospital.
