Fallen tree blocks railway between Havant and Haslemere - disruption now over

A TREE blocking a railway line has caused disruption.

South Western Railway said the line between Havant and Haslemere was affected, with the Haslemere-bound line blocked.

But by 11am the firm said: ‘Disruption caused by a tree blocking the railway between Havant and Haslemere has now ended.’

Earlier a statement said: ‘Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 1pm.

‘This means that trains on the line towards Haslemere are unable to run. Our specialist teams are working to clear the tree from the track.

‘For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.’

It comes as bus and rail services are being cut back from Monday due to coronavirus.
