Hampshire road A334 near Wickham closed in both directions after gas leak

POLICE closed a road after a gas leak near Wickham.

Officers shut the A334 Winchester Road in both directions this afternoon at around 4.45pm.

Hampshire’s traffic monitoring service Romanse tweeted: ‘Winchester Rd CLOSED in both directions between Titchfield Ln/Blind Ln and Cold Harbour Close due to a Gas Leak.’

A Hampshire police spokeswoman said: ‘We were called shortly after 1.05pm on Saturday 24 April to assist with road closures while a gas leak was dealt with on Cold Harbour Close, Wickham.

‘Officers attended to assist with traffic while road closures were in place. We left the scene shortly after 5.05pm.’
