The bizarre incident happened between junction 4 and junction 3 at 9.51am.
Highways England were unable to confirm which side of the motorway the ducks were – and when they arrived the ducks had gone.
In a post on Twitter, the authority said there were ‘reports of ducks in the carriageway’ with ‘signals set and traffic officers are towards’.
