Resident Carla Hodgson was one of those who saw the incident – and her husband Jason rushed out of the house to help the driver.
She said: ‘Lots of residents heard the collision and were out in seconds.
‘I grabbed my hubby and he ran out in his pyjamas and bare feet, climbed on top, another neighbour held the door ajar and he climbed in to support the injured driver, another neighbour laid on the floor speaking to driver through his window.
‘The guy was awake, bless him, but we all looked after him until emergency services arrived on the scene.’

‘It was a single vehicle incident and the car was on its side – there was one male casualty trapped so he was extracted by the fire crew.’
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘It was a Kia Ceed 3 that ended up on it's side at the junction of Gosport Road and Salterns Road in Fareham.
‘It was a minor injury to the driver in the end. He was the only person in the car and in his mid-20s.
‘He was taken to hospital.’
