Motorist reported for summons after dangerous tyre blow out on M27 leaves lane blocked

A DRIVER has been reported for summons by police after a blown out tyre on the M27 led to a lane being blocked and delays for motorists.

Police posted a picture of the dangerous tyre that gave way while travelling eastbound between junction 9 and 10 at around 4.30pm today.

The inside lane was left blocked as a result of the incident.

And now the driver faces the prospect of a court appearance following the misdemeanor – with officers less than impressed.

Hants Roads Policing Unit, posting on Twitter, said: ‘Live lane break down on the M27 near Fareham due to a blown out tyre.

‘Closer inspection shows why it failed! Vehicle move to a safe location and prohibited from going any further. Driver reported for summons. Check your tyres #TheyDontLastForever #ItsNotWorthTheRisk.’
