Oil spill causing chaos on Hampshire roads with A31 and M3 closures

AN oil spillage is causing major disruption on Hampshire roads.

The A31 Alresford Road is completely closed westbound and two lanes are shut on the eastbound carriageway.

The M3 J10 entry slip road has also now been closed, Highways England has announced.

Motorists are being warned of delays.

ROMANSE tweeted: ‘Alresford Road remains CLOSED W/B and lane 2 E/B due to ongoing oil spillage at Ladycroft Crossroads, delays building on approach.’

Highways England added: ‘J10 entry slip road is CLOSED on #M3 #Coastbound due to a fuel spillage. There is currently a lane 1 closure in place on the main carriageway to allow work to be completed. Please plan ahead.’

The A27 was shut westbound this morning following a serious collision in Titchfield which left a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries.
