Teenage biker taken to hospital with multiple injuries after crash in busy Portsmouth road

The 18-year-old was treated for back, neck and shoulder injuries by paramedics at the scene of the collision in London Road, North End, last night.
He was then taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
The crash involving two motorcycles and a van happened at around 5.21pm on Tuesday evening.

Hide AdThe 18-year-old and his friend Zack Wesson, 21 from Fareham, were going for a bike ride together when the incident happened.
Zach explained: ‘The van in front of us braked for something – I hit my brakes and the other bike crashed into the back of me.
‘My legs are a bit screwed up but I’m more worried about my mate.
‘He’s been in the ambulance since it turned up and the paramedics are taking care of him.’

Hide AdA spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We received a 999 call at 17:21 with the caller reporting a collision between two motorcyclists on London Road, Hilsea.
‘We sent an ambulance to the incident and the crew reported that the 18-year-old male rider had suspected back, neck and shoulder injuries and following initial treatment at the scene, has now been taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital.’
One eyewitness told The News: ‘I saw someone being looked over by ambulance crews and the police have been getting statements.
‘It looks like a pretty bad crash – I hope everyone is okay.’
