Three people hospitalised after lorry and three cars collide on M27

THREE people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the motorway this morning.

Just after 9am, three cars and a lorry collided on the eastbound carriageway of the M27, at junction 8 for Bursledon.

Five casualties were initially reported, with three being hospitalised after further assessment.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service, which attended the incident, said: ‘We were called at 9.07am to the M27 at junction 8 to a collision involving a lorry and three cars.

‘We sent to the scene an ambulance officer and three ambulance crews who were assessing five patients.

‘Just three were assessed and treated at the scene by our crews and taken to University Hospital Southampton for further treatment.’

Further details on the condition of those taken to hospital is not known at this time.
