The D-Day 80 anniversary events will officially commence in just over an hour’s time - and Southsea Common looks phenomenal.

As the city prepares to host the national commemorative D-Day 80 events, footage depicts the incredible scenes within the fenced off area on Southsea Common. Taking central position is the stage which is surrounded by seating for veterans, members of the public and special guests and it is clear that a lot of work has gone into creating this incredible event space.

The commemorative events will honour and celebrate the incredible joint work of the UK, Commonwealth and Allied troops in preparing for the largest naval, air and land operation in history.
