Hampshire weather: Parts of county could hit 28C next week as sunshine remains

Despite the Met Office forecasting a mainly cloudy day on Saturday in Portsmouth, with a high temperature of 19C, there is a full day of clear skies and sunshine on Sunday with temperatures set to peak at 22C.

But conditions heat up even further early next week with Portsmouth due to bask in glorious sunshine and temperature highs of 22C on Monday and Wednesday.

Tuesday is set to see a little more in the way of cloud with the thermometer possibly peaking at 21C.

However, Met Office spokesman Grahame Madge told The News these ‘are conservative estimates and we may well see 25C on the south coast’.

He added: ‘Away from the coast, parts of Hampshire could hit the high twenties, with somewhere such as Petersfield potentially hitting 28C on Monday or Tuesday.’

This would see Hampshire hitting temperatures higher than those currently forecast for Madrid.

Mr Madge did warn the warm spell of weather looks ‘set to come to an end’ as we move into the second half of next week.
