Here is when the Met Office is forecasting snow for Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant, Fareham and Waterlooville this weekend

A weather warning for snow was in place for much of Hampshire for this weekend – but has been pushed back.

The yellow alert had been in force from noon on Saturday until 11.59pm on Sunday, but now does not kick in until Monday. The warning then lasts until Wednesday.

It covers part of Portsmouth including Cosham as well as Havant, Waterlooville and northern Hampshire.

On its website the Met Office says: ‘Snow showers in the far north-east of the UK will spread southwards. Chance of heavier snow for a time in the south.’

Up to 15cm of snow is being forecast for some parts of the south east.

Here is what the latest Met Office forecast says:

Portsmouth

Saturday – Light rain changing to cloudy by the end of the day – highs of 8C and lows of 1C

Sunday – some snow falling with rain from 2am to 4am then a cloudy day – temperatures of 1Cmore most of the day but feeling below freezing. 50-50 chance of snow falling at about 6pm, too.

Saturday – Cloudy – highs of 8C and lows of 2C

Sunday – Despite Portsmouth’s forecast, no snow is predicted in Gosport, but it will feel cold – between -3C and -6C during the day

Fareham

Saturday – Cloudy changing to light rain in the afternoon – highs of 8C and lows of 1C

Sunday – Some wet snow early on Sunday morning – cold temperatures feeling like -5C

Havant

Saturday - Light rain in the afternoon and evening – highs of 8C and lows of 1C

Sunday – Snow and rain between 2am and 7am, but cloud for the rest of the day – temperature about 1C, feeling about -5C. Snow also forecast to return at about 5pm.

Waterlooville

Saturday - Light rain in the afternoon and evening – highs of 7C and lows of 0C

Sunday – Snow showers early, from 3am to 6am, but then cloudy. There's a 50-50 chance of snow falling in the afternoon and evening, and it will remain cold.
