Here is where snow is being forecast in Hampshire by the Met Office

A weather warning is in place for snow and ice for parts of Hampshire.

The yellow alert has been issued by the Met Office and it is in place until 6pm tonight.

It has been issued for parts of Hampshire including Winchester, Basingstoke and Petersfield.

On its website, the Met Office warning reads: ‘Rain may turn to snow, which along with widespread ice, will lead to the potential for some disruption to travel and utilities.

Snow warning issued for parts of Hampshire

‘Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.

‘Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.

‘Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.’

Here is where snow is being forecast in Hampshire today:

Andover

Heavy snow was forecast for between 9am and 10am in Andover by the Met Office, sleet is also forecast for 2pm.

Sleet showers are being forecast for between noon and 5pm in Alton.

Basingstoke

The Met Office is forecast snow showers from 1pm to 4pm in Basingstoke today.

Hook

Snow showers are being forecast for 1pm in Hook by the Met Office.

Kings Worthy

Snow showers are being forecast at 3pm and 5pm in Kings Worthy.

Romsey

Sleet is forecast for between 10am and 11am in Romsey today by the Met Office.

Tadley

Sleet showers are being forecast for between 11am and 3pm for Tadley by the Met Office today.

Winchester

Sleet (a mixture of rain and snow) is being forecast at 2pm in Winchester.

If you are hoping to see the white stuff fall in Portsmouth today – then unfortunately you are out of luck.

Snow is not being forecast for the city by the Met Office, with just a few rain showers throughout the day.

Temperatures will stay above freezing, with lows of 1C being predicted.
