Live updates: Storm Austen hits Portsmouth and south Hampshire

Storm Austen has arrived in Portsmouth and south Hampshire, and has brought a night of heavy rain.

The wind has started to rise, but it’s the rain that has been most evident overnight, with lots of surface water on roads this morning. There are reports in west Cornwall of fierce winds this morning, up to 70mph, which are forecast to spread east as the day goes on.
