Met Office issue weather warning for thunderstorms in Portsmouth and across Hampshire

THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain showers in Portsmouth and across Hampshire.

It runs from 11am to 8pm today.

Commuters have been warned there could be disruption to road travel with possible delays to train services.

Conditions could also lead to a potential short term loss of power.

A statement on the Met Office website said: ‘Some places could see around 20mm of rain within an hour and perhaps 30mm to 40mm in around three hours - sufficient to cause issues on the roads.’
