A red ‘flooding is expected’ alert is in force for Fareham as well as for Bosham and West Itchenor.
Residents in those areas are warned that there is ‘a risk of flooding from spray’.
In Fareham specifically, the EA says that the ‘bottom of the road at Wallington Shore Road, and the road at Eastern Parade, will flood’ – so remain vigilant.
While a number of yellow ‘flooding is possible’ alerts have been issued across the area.
One is in place for Portsmouth, with residents warned that ‘overtopping of the sea wall into the garden of the Still and West Pub, Old Portsmouth is expected’.
The EA has also said that the ‘road will flood at East Street and impact boat yards at The Camber’. Spray overtopping of ‘defence walls at Southsea promenade and Eastern road’ is also expected.
Similar warnings have also been issued for Gosport, Portchester, Hayling Island, Langstone to Emsworth Harbour and across the south coast.
