Storm Ciara: Homes hit by power cuts across the Portsmouth area

A amber weather warning for strong winds remains in place until 9pm.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is reporting power outages across the region.

Residents in Swanmore have been hit by power cuts this afternoon, while parts of Waterlooville have also been left without electricity.

SSEN’s power track says that 38 postcodes in the S032 area, which covers Swanmore, have been hit by power outages.

It reports that the power went out at 1.12pm and they hope to restore it by 7.30pm.

The power track is also showing that two Waterlooville postcodes – PO8 9TY and PO8 9TZ – have also been hit by power cuts.

Electricity was lost in the two areas at 12.58pm and is expected to be restored by 4pm, according to SSEN.
