WEATHER: Travel disruption across Portsmouth area as Met Office warning is issued
Temperatures are forecast to fall as low as 2C this morning, although it could feel even colder for those outside.
A yellow weather warning for icy conditions is in place covering parts of West Sussex and Hampshire, but Portsmouth is expected to escape the worst of the cold weather.
The warning is in place until 10.30am this morning.

Hide AdOn its website the Met Office said: ‘A small area of rain is moving eastwards, falling onto cold surfaces following earlier clear conditions.
‘Some icy stretches may form as the rain falls or under clearer skies as the rain clears.’
It added: ‘There is potential for slippery surfaces and difficult driving conditions.’
Gritters are being sent out on Hampshire’s roads this weekend as temperatures drop.

Hide AdSouthern Rail services are also being disrupted this morning because of ice covering the rails.
Trains are having to run at reduced speeds on some routes, including between Horsham and Havant.
