Yellow weather warning issued for Hampshire with 50mph winds set to hit Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant, Fareham, Waterlooville and Hayling Island

A weather warning for strong winds has been issued for across the Portsmouth area.

The alert is in place from 9pm on Wednesday until 3pm on Thursday.

Gales of up to 52mph are being forecast for the early morning on March 11.

The Met Office is warning of heavy and blustery showers which could bring some potential disruption.

There is also the possibility of short term loss of power and other services as well as some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely.
