Were you a World Cup Willy?

Next Saturday is the 50th anniversary of England winning the World Cup in 1966.

It was the day when the golden boy of English football, Bobby Moore, led Banks, Wilson, Cohen, Hurst, Peters, Charlton R, Charlton J, Ball, Hunt and Stiles to victory beating West Germany 4-2 at Wembley.

Their names are forever in engraved in people’s memories. Indeed, I have just written the complete team without having to think about it.

Did you attend the game or watch it somewhere other than at home? Were you one of those who invaded the pitch thinking ‘it was all over’?

Please let me know by Tuesday lunchtime.
