Where's my nearest Remembrance Sunday event in Portsmouth, Gosport, Havant and Hayling Island?Â

Commemorations will be staged right the way across The News's area, from the city centre of Portsmouth, to town high streets of Fareham and Gosport and village squares of Rowlands Castle and Horndean.

And this year's Remembrance is set to be one of the biggest ever as it marks the centenary of the end of the First World War.

Here is a guide of Remembrance events taking place across the area:

Thursday:

Portsmouth: A garden of remembrance service is being staged at the First World War memorial in Guildhall Square from 11am.

Saturday:

Portsmouth: Volunteers from the Pompey Pals Charity will be staging a 24-hour guard of honour at the Cenotaph off Guildhall Square from 10am until 10am on Sunday.

Sunday:

Portsmouth: At 6am a lone piper will play in Guildhall Square marking the moment the Armistice agreement was signed 100 years ago.

Then, from 10am until midday, a service and parade will take place in the square. The event will be attended by military units, cadet groups, veterans and community organisations.

Portsmouth: A ceremony is being staged at the Portsmouth Naval Memorial on Southsea Common from 9.30am until 10am.

Portsmouth: St Mary's Church, in Fratton Road, is hosting a Royal British Legion service of Remembrance from 3pm to 4pm.

Portsmouth: The Last Post will be played at Southsea Castle at 6.55pm ahead of a national beacon lighting service at the site at 7pm. At 7.05pm bells will be rung out at Portsmouth's Anglican cathedral.

Fareham: Names of the town's fallen servicemen will be read during the Forever Remembered service at Holy Trinity Church at 9.45am. Later, at 10.36am there will be a parade from the Duke of Connaught's Own Club, in Western Road, to West Street, where a two-minute silence will be held following by a wreath laying at Holy Trinity. HMS Collingwood, supported by the Royal British Legion, will lead the parade. HMS Collingwood's Volunteer Band will be performing.

Gosport: An armed guard from HMS Sultan will be leading a parade from Bury Road to Gosport War Memorial Hospital, forming up from 10.30am. Wreaths will be laid at the hospital with music provided by Gosport Solent Brass.

Portchester: Fort Nelson, in Portsdown Hill Road, will be firing its 18-pounder field gun every 10 minutes in the 100 minutes leading up to the 11am, when the guns fell silent on the battlefields of Europe 100 years ago. In the final 10 minutes the were be a simulation of the chaos of the Western Front, with a cacophony of rifle and artillery firings until 11am.

Portchester: St Mary's Church and Portchester Castle are hosting a joint event. Beginning at 5pm, children from TS Tenacity will join a torchlight procession from the car park near the sailing club before an informal service at St Mary's Church, where students from Portchester Community School will read poems and sing songs, supported by Portsmouth Sea Cadets. A free barbeque will be held at 6.15pm. A beacon lighting service will be held at 7pm followed by the Last Post.

Havant: A parade will march off from the Ex-Servicemens Club, in Brockhampton Lane, at 10.40am, with a service taking place at St Faith's Church.

Hayling Island:  A procession will head off from Hollow Lane car park at 10.30am, along Elm Grove to the cenotaph where a wreath laying and small service will be held. A longer service will then take place at St Mary's Church, at 10.45am where the names of Hayling's fallen will be read. Other services are being held at St Peter's, at 9.15am, and St Andrew's at 10.30am.

Emsworth: Southbourne Sea Scouts will be joining the town's Remembrance parade from 9.30am, leaving from the group's HQ in Prinsted Lane, to St John's Church Remembrance service, in Main Road, at 10am. A two-minute silence will then be held at 11am at the war memorial.

Rowlands Castle: The Union flag will lowered at 11am on the village green for a two-minute silence to honour those killed defending the nation.

Horndean: A parade will leave from the Scout Hut in Queens Crescent at 10.20am for a 10.50am service at Horndean Square. Blendworth Lane will be closed 9.45am to 1pm. Havant Road, Portsmouth Road and London Road will be closed 10am to midday.

Bishop's Waltham: A service of requiem from 6.30pm at All Saints Church, in High Street.
