Young people funding boost

YOUNG people who have experienced difficult childhood experiences will get more support after Hampshire's police and crime commissioner won national funding of more than £400,000.Â

A partnership bid to the Home Office Early Intervention Youth Fund, led by crime commissioner Michael Lane secured £416,829.

It is hoped the funding will help youngsters who may at risk of offending in the future.

The successful project will see up to 150 specially trained professional recruited to work alongside Portsmouth City Council and other organisations.

Mr Lane said: '˜It will offer a targeted approach to help deal with trauma.'
