Of course, the museum is closed at the moment due to coronavirus.

But when it does re-open again, one of the elements of it that will return will be its heritage restorations project.

Established in May 2019, Eden Camp Heritage Restorations is made up of a team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to breathe new life into Eden Camp’s collection.

Through extensive research, resourcing and skilled work, the ECHR mission is to restore old military and civilian vehicles and machinery back to full working order and bring history forward to the present day for all to enjoy and experience.

From bicycles and motorcycles, artillery pieces and the jewel in its crown, an M50 Sherman tank, you can keep up to date with progress and upcoming projects by following its Facebook page or by speaking to their highly-skilled volunteers on site, in the new engine shed and the ECHR workshop.

Eden Camp is always looking for enthusiastic people to join its team of volunteers and keep that historic wartime experience going for everyone who wants a day stepping back in time.

At any given time, it has a range of projects underway that require both skilled and unskilled work that is both challenging and rewarding.

From restoring motorcycles and tanks, to tending to the site’s ‘dig for victory’ garden or working in its archive, being part of the Eden Camp team can offer you the chance to develop new skills or build on your existing experience and knowledge.

And with this week being the celebration of VE Day, there’s never been a better time to think about signing up to serve the war effort.

Eden Camp also employs around 60 people in a variety of roles.

And it is always looking for talented people to join the friendly team and help it to maintain its high levels of visitor satisfaction.
