Virgin has made its mark with trains and planes, but the company is now taking to the waters, with the launch of its first ever first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady.

But this adults-only cruise liner is doing something a little different from the traditional cruise, by offering a multitude of innovative on-board experiences.

What is different about the Scarlet Lady?

Scarlet Lady has its very own tattoo parlour restaurant, alongside many restaurants, drag-themed brunches and much more.

There’s a part cooking school, part restaurant, where you'll be presented with an ingredient list which chefs then use to combine in order to make unique meals. Guests will be able to take part in everything from cooking classes to mixology sessions and coffee labs here.

If you’re a big foodie, then you’ll have a choice of 20 restaurants to choose from, including pizzerias, cocktail bars, and snack bars.

Also, if you love to brunch, then the cruise has plenty of options for this, including a themed brunch with performances from drag acts.

There’ll also be plenty of other entertainment on offer, including live gigs and DJ sets.

If you prefer sitting outside and feeling the wind in your hair as you overlook the ocean, then you’ll love the 220 square foot area of triple netting on deck.

Here, you can lay out on the netting and breathe in the sea air, soaking up the sun as the ship carries you onward to your next destination.

‘The Scarlet Lady is truly special’

Richard Branson, founder of Virgin, said, "I have dreamed of starting my own cruise line since I was in my 20s and I’m thrilled that moment has arrived.

"The Scarlet Lady is truly special and we’ve worked with some of the world’s most sought-after designers, artists and architects to craft an extraordinary experience.

"The benefit of our five decades in business in so many industries is that we can offer a voyage like no other."
