February on campus is a month of crisp winter mornings, and our students dashing to lectures under cold blue skies.
It's also a month of working closely with our partners to run events to support business and drive change. Just of few of which are listed at the end of this article:
Congratulations to our Awards Winners
Our annual Business Consultancy Awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate the hard work and successes of our students and their business clients on their Business Consultancy Project. Which involves teams of students working within business over 3 months, on a project such as; developing a social media strategy, conducting competitor analysis, or optimising internal business processes.
This year’s winners were announced at our Awards night last Thursday and were as follows:
Abigail Norman for Outstanding Leadership in team Nova, nominated by Dave Humphries, CEO of Shaping Portsmouth. With the Award sponsored by Peas in a Pod Consulting.
The Market Ninjas team, nominated by Peter Hooley, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Entrepid. With the Award sponsored by Grazing with Gazelles
Both TANJible and ZMORN teams for The Peter Wainwright Award for Outstanding Impact, nominated by AdCoUK Limited and Endometriosis South Coast respectively. Sponsored by Desk2Educate, Peas in a Pod Consulting, UniteVerse and Anne Stevens, HR advisor and coach, board mentor and non-executive director.
The awards included welcomes and presentations from Kay Coombs and Rebecca Beard, co-founders of Pea in a Pod Consulting, and Professor Graham Galbraith, Vice-Chancellor of the University.
Abigail Norman from team Nova said: Our team strove to represent Collaboration over competition. I give my gratitude to my team of committed students, our client, and the wider community for supporting the project - it has truly been an honour to work with you all. For me, leadership is about leading with heart, and it was a privilege to embody this at Shaping Portsmouth's conference, uniting us in our shared values and compassion, witnessing as the community collaborates so that we can transform Portsmouth together. Thank you all for your passion in this city’.
The event wouldn’t have been possible without the support and encouragement of our Sponsors; Rebecca Beard and Kay Coombs, co-founders of Peas in a Pod Consulting, Graeme Quar, Founder of Grazing with Gazelles, Becky Lodge, Founder of Desk2Educate, Adrian Norman, Co-Founder and CEO of UniteVerse, Anne Stevens, board mentor and non-executive director, and Barclays Eagle Labs.
