Industry links and modern facilities

It is a three-campus college and therefore able to bring exceptional industry knowledge into the classroom, ensuring students are fully supported alongside the use of modernised facilities. Not to mention an array of academic extra-curricular activities which gives you the opportunity to go above and beyond your curriculum.

Vocational and technical

The South Downs Campus is home to a large range of vocational and technical courses which offer ‘hands-on’ experience in your desired field. From the newly refurbished engineering department to the realistic aviation suite, we really do have outstanding facilities that will prepare you for your future career.

In 2020, it was the only college in Hampshire chosen to launch the T Level qualification, which is the perfect combination of classroom learning and first-hand industry experience, thanks to the placement aspect of the course.

The Health and Nursing T Level course has helped enhance my employability as I was able to have real-life, invaluable experiences which I could use for my university interviews. I could use scenarios to answer questions they asked me

A Level centre of excellence

The Havant Campus strives for academic excellence, offering over 40 A Level subjects, ensuring you have a large range of options to suit you and your career aspirations. Many students progress onto higher education after completing their A Levels with HSDC, including those who secure places at Oxbridge and other Russell Group universities.

HSDC regularly invests in its facilities to ensure students are ready for their futures. It has recently been successful in securing £3.5 million in funding which will be used to facilitate a mix of general-purpose and IT classrooms in the form of a new building to support the continued growth of its A Level Centre of Excellence.

Former A Level student Molly achieved an impressive A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics this year and is heading to Oxford University to study Medicine. Speaking on her HSDC experience, Molly said:  “My favourite part of my college experience has been making new friends and studying Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics which I loved, alongside excellent support from my teachers.

During my time at HSDC, I was part of the Be Aspirational Programme and the Oxford Mentoring Scheme and am now going to study Medicine at Oxford University with the hopes of becoming a doctor in the future.”
