Fareham Blue left Green with envy

Fareham Green enjoyed a straightforward win over Fareham Blue (79-33) in league A of the Palmerston Cup.

In the game between Lee Cunningham (Green skip) and Brian Shakespeare (Blue skip), there was only one point between them after six ends.

But when Cunningham's rink picked up seven shots on the eighth end, they took control of the game to run out 32-13 winners.

On the second rink between Dorian Bishop (Green) and David Jackson (Blue), it was Bishop & Co who took command of the game to finish 27-4 winners.

Alan Leppard (Green) and Roy Lowe (Blue) went head-to-head in rink three.

Leppard's rink started well to go 10-4 up after six ends, but Lowe fought back to make the score 12-12 after 12 ends.

They were unable to maintain that momentum, though, as Leppard & Co eventually ran out 20-16 winners.

Meanwhile, Banister Gold sneaked home 48-44 in their titantic tussle with Milton Park.

The first rink between Mark Barnes (Banister) and Len Reeves (Milton) proved a tight affair.

There was never more than a couple of shots between them, with the score level at 16-16 up to the penultimate end.

That meant a last-end shootout which saw Reeves' Milton rink score two to claim a 18-16 win.

On the second rink between Pete Lebbern (Banister) and Mick Brown (Milton), it was Lebbern's rink who dominated, finishing 23-6 winners.

The third rink match between Doreen Harris (Banister skip) and Dave Brown (Milton skip) saw a reversal of the previous game, with Brown's rink dominating to claim a 20-9 win.
