AC ended AFC Trades’ 100 per cent record in Division 5 of the City of Portsmouth Sunday League as the competition emerged from a three-month lockdown

In a double header, Trades claimed a 3-0 victory in the first match with Charle Smith on target twice, writes PAUL OASTLER.

But it was a different tale in the second as AC triumphed 2-1.

AC took the lead through a great solo effort from Spencer Dawson, and doubled their lead in the second half with a George Hampson header.

Smith grabbed his third goal of the day in reply.

Trades still lead the way at the top but only on goal difference as both AC and Fratton Trade Reserves are level with them on 18 points.

Horndean United could also have drawn level with the leaders but drew 1 - 1 in one of their double banker games against bottom club AFC Prospect Farm Rangers.

Lee Callaghan netted for Rangers in what was their first point of the campaign.

Horndean made no mistake in the second game with Peter Snaith, Matt Davison and Lewis Saunders (2) securing a 4-0 victory.

Afc Eastney’s keeper was given man of the match honours in both of his side’s games against Portsville Park.

Eastney lost the first game 1 -0, Sam Redman scoring, but gained a valuable point in a 0 - 0 stalemate in the second.

Milton Rovers and AFC Southdowns are out in front in Division 1 with 10 points apiece.

Southdowns could have gone clear at the top but could only manage a 0-0 draw in the second game of a double banker against Jameson Arms.

The first was a 5-1 victory for Southdowns with goals from Blu Boam (2), Dan Hargreaves, Brandon Elliott and John Cass.

A hat-trick from Dave Parker and two from Louie Jeff helped North End Cosmos gain all three points in a high scoring 5-4 win over Purbrook United.

Only two games took place in Division 2 with leaders Seagull maintaining their 100 per cent league record with a 2 - 0 win over AFC Portchester Reserves - both goals coming from Reece Tuppen.

Four goals from Mauro Morais helped Freehouse trounce AFC Leigh Park 6-1 to move into second place. Bradley Willett and Owen Oliver also scored.

Wicor Mill extended their 100 per cent record in Division 4 with two 4-1 victories against Fratton Trades.

James King and Simon Woods both scored twice in the first win, with King, Ben Stabb, Stuart Long and Ben Kerr also on target and Adam White replying.

In Division 6 North End Lions claimed a double success against Fratton Trades A.

The first game saw them triumph 4-1 with Luke Armstrong, Kent Pryer and Michael Abbott (2) on target.

In the second game Daniel Mortimer, David Chester and a brace from Armstrong gave Lions a 4-0 success.
