Rovers travel to Poole this weekend to take on a Hamworthy United side who thumped them 4-0 at The PMC Stadium a fortnight ago.

Manager Shaun Wilkinson admits it is a tough ask against one of the league's in-form teams.

'Things certainly aren't getting any easier,' he said.

Baffins picked up more injuries in their shock midweek Wessex League Cup exit at Newport IOW.

Charlie Osborne was stretchered off in a tie where Rovers threw away a 3-2 lead to concede two goals in the last five minutes.

Wilkinson has taken steps to shore up a leaky defence - Rovers have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches - by dual signing centre half Ryan Peake from Chichester City.

Peake is also a threat at the other end - he netted Chi’s consolation in last December’s FA Cup second round defeat at Tranmere Rovers.

Hamworthy have won their last four Wessex games, scoring 15 times and conceding just two.

The Hammers - managed by ex-Gosport striker Tim Sills - caned Shaftesbury 5-0 in midweek and will leap into second spot if they complete a quickfire double over Baffins.
