Saturday's trip to Rochdale is the first of five games in a 15-day period for the Blues.

Jackett's men also play, Coventry (October 2), Gillingham (October 6) and AFC Wimbledon (October 13) in League One, as well as Crawley in the Checkatrade Trophy (October 9).

Only the clash against the Gills is at Fratton Park.

Nevertheless, Jackett is exciting for the approaching fixture list and feels it can help Pompey build momentum.

The boss said: '˜I'm looking forward to the run of games coming up, with a couple of Tuesday games.

'˜Mainly the league is our priority but we play Crawley away in the Checkatrade during that period as well.

'˜I'm trying to get as many people as fit and available as possible for that so we can go into it full strength and pick up as many wins as possible '“ starting on Saturday.'

Pompey were held to a 3-3 draw at Rochdale last season.

That's when the Dale were battling to save their League One status '“ which they managed to achieve by a point.

Regardless, Jackett expects a different sort of clash at Spotland this time around and knows Keith Hill's side pose a threat.

'˜They're always a test,' added the Blues manager.

'˜Last time we went up there, they were in the middle of a battle to stay up and obviously done that and maintained their League One status.

'˜It's different set of circumstances going up there relatively early this season.

'˜They will set us very good test, will be well organised and have some good individual players.

'˜Mainly, though, my focus is on my own team, as ever.

'˜I enjoy the free weeks, enjoy the coaching and working at the side.

'˜I'm really focusing on Rochdale, which is number one, and then Coventry, Gillingham and Crawley.

'˜If we look at those games as a block we're looking to do as well as we possibly can in both competitions.'
