And that’s only if East Lodge or Cowplain take maximum points from their remaining two fixtures.

Dave Bridger’s Carberry remained two points clear of second-placed Lodge, with a game in hand, after a 2-2 draw against them at the weekend.

The title picture would have been looking even better had Carberry not conceded two goals in the final 20 minutes.

First, midfielder Jacob Wade pulled Lodge back into contention, firing home the rebound after his initial header from a corner had been saved.

Then centre half Sam Robinson nodded in from another corner.

An own goal and one from Gary Armstrong had put Carberry in command..

Lodge, minus top scorer Josh Davies and injured striker Callum Hill, were happy with a draw.

‘I was pleased with a point at the end of the day,’ said player-boss Jordan Davies.

‘Carberry were the better side for the first 60 minutes, they deserved their lead.

‘We don’t normally score from corners, so it was nice to find goals from a different way.

‘We had a few half-chances, but Carberry had a few good ones in the first half - they would probably have been disappointed not to score more.’

Lodge travel to Cowplain, level on points with them, for both sides’ penultimate fixture this weekend.
