The Cumbrians’ Danny Grainger bagged a brace, including a 95th-minute equaliser, to rescue a point against Pompey.

Hide AdGrainger opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot after a foul from Christian Burgess.
Caolan Lavery equalised in the 66th minute for the Blues, before Marc McNulty, inset below, put the visitors in front two minutes later.
But deep into injury-time Grainger struck from 30 yards to steal a point for the hosts and leave Pompey devastated.

Hide AdOn this occasion Charlie Wyke denied the Blues victory after the striker struck right on the full-time whistle.
Kyle Dempsey opened the scoring for the hosts on two minutes from 20 yards.
Jed Wallace equalised from 25 yards out on 38 minutes, before Matt Tubbs pounced from close range to give Pompey a 2-1 lead on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors thought they had the points in the bag until Wyke popped up in added time to snatch a point for Carlisle.

There was stoppage-time goal once again as the Cumbrians walked away 4-2 victors against the 10-man Blues.
Jake Jervis scored a thumping header 13 minutes into the game for the hosts, and it was followed by another header from Danny Livesey shortly after half-time.
Kevin Long was given his marching orders on 84 minutes for a second bookable offence but it didn’t deter Pompey, who were determined to get something out of the game.

Hide AdAshley Harris nodded the Blues back into contention in the 90th minute, only for James Berrett to reinstate Carlisle’s two-goal advantage.
Substitute Connor Clifford quickly hit back to give Pompey hope, before Paddy Madden put the game to bed for the hosts.

Dindane struck back for the visitors with his first goal for the club in the 26th minute, before Danny Webber, inset below, added his first goal for the Blues with a delightful chip seven minutes later.
Anthony Vanden Borre sealed the win on 63 minutes, with his first goal for the club, too.

Hide AdMick Channon scored his second goal of the season as his glancing header proved enough to beat Carlisle.
Nicky Morgan thought he had put the visitors ahead 15 minutes into the game with a looping header which struck the inside of the post.
Carlisle rarely tested the Blues, with Ian Bishop’s 25-yard effort the only test for the visitors.
It was a damp day for the 4,225 fans in attendance, but the win was crucial for Pompey, who moved top of the table alongside Norwich.
