The Coventry boss recognised the attacking quality the Blues possess at the Ricoh Arena last night.

Kenny Jackett's side extended their lead at the summit of the division with a victory over the Sky Blues.

Ronan Curtis was the visitors' match-winner, with his 20-yard shot in first-half stoppage-time proving decisive.

The Irishman was assisted by Brett Pitman, who deftly cushioned a header into his path.

Pompey's win moved them three points clear of second-placed Peterborough.

And Robins feels the Blues deserve to be where they are in League One.

He told Coventry's official website: '˜You can see why they're at the top of the league.

'˜They are very functional and have good quality up top with Brett Pitman and their two wide players who we kept fairly quiet.

'˜It is disappointing, but we have got to bounce back with another big game on Saturday '“ we are not too far away.'

Pompey thoroughly deserved the three points at the Sky Blues, with keeper Craig MacGillivray rarely troubled.

Robins was disappointed by the lack of goalscoring chances his troops managed to create.

The Coventry manager added: '˜We started to look like we were going to build a head of steam up.

'˜We made positive changes, we were moving forward and the crowd started to lift and it just fizzled out which is disappointing.

'˜Overall, not enough was done, not enough chances were created and the chances we did create we did not take and it proved costly.'
