Disgrace! Ref is lucky Portsmouth fans aren't present after 'shocking' Lincoln red card decision
There was only one talking point as Jack Whatmough was controversially sent off in the first half. Here's a selection of those views.
Can’t be surprised with the standard of officiating in the EFL. Disgrace

Hide AdShocking. That will surely be overturned on appeal due to it being a straight red. And it not being a red card foul. Won’t bring him back tonight though.
@pompeypaul72
Not reckless or endangering the player, no raised boots or sliding motion. Unless the referee thinks he’s seen something differently it’s poor
@brendonvbone
2 feet off the ground, leading with the studs, front facing a player. How long you been watching football?
@Alex_Russell9
The thing that's gone against him is he was off the ground when he dived in. Could be classed as being out of control and possibly endangering an opponent. 20 years ago its a great tackle but nowadays the rules on tackling are completely different.

Hide AdLuckiest man in #Pompey tonight has to be referee Sam Purkiss. If fans were at Fratton Park they would certainly be letting their feelings known since the straight red for Jack Whatmough. #EFL
@PompeyNewsNow
A high-risk low-reward challenge from Whatmough that while shouldn’t have been a red, completely ended what was promising to be an end-to-end entertaining spectacle. #Pompey dug in for a time, but lose more ground on the top two. Tough Charlton trip next. 23 played, 23 to go.
@PompeyViking62
I know I wear blue tinted glasses but that was NOT worthy of a red card for Jack Whatmough. #pompey

Pompey 0 -1 Referee
