Ex-Moneyfields boss named Gosport Borough's third manager of the season

Gosport Borough have turned to Callum Glen to be their new manager

Gosport Borough have named Callum Glen as their new manager.

The Southern League premier division south outfit announced the appointment on Wednesday evening, just days after Moneyfields revealed they had accepted an approach from a Step 3 side for their boss’ services.

Glen, who guided Moneys to the Isthmian League south central division play-offs last season, replaces Jermaine McGlashan in the AEI Stadium hotseat following his decision to step down earlier this month after just seven league games in charge.

He’s the third person to take control of Boro this season, with Simon Lane lasting just two games of the current campaign.

Gosport moved into the play-off places on Tuesday night thanks to a 3-1 win against Bracknell Town.

Glen’s first game in charge will be a home fixture against Hanwell Town on Saturday.

Following his Moneyfields departure, Neil Tomlinson has been placed in interim charge of the John Jenkins Stadium side.
