Fareham boss Stiles unhappy with match officials after red card in Russell Cotes Cup exit

Pete Stiles was fuming with the officials after ten-man Fareham Town exited the Russell Cotes Cup with a 2-1 defeat at lower division Alton last night.

The Reds had Connor Messenbird sent off and numerous players booked in the quarter final loss.‘I am not happy with the way the game was refereed,’ said Stiles.‘Our player was sent off for a perfectly good tackle.‘Having said that, we weren’t good enough.‘We didn’t trouble their keeper and gifted them their two goals.’Archie Willcox grabbed the Reds’ only goal on a 3G surface against their Wessex Division 1 hosts.Alton now join Lymington Town in the semi-finals.
