Former Pompey favourite Jamie O'Hara has been handed the chance to kickstart his footballing career by League One strugglers Bury.

And all being well, the Blues’ 2009-10 player of the season could be in line to make his Shakers debut against another one of his former clubs, Chesterfield, this weekend.

Free-agent mdfielder O’Hara, who played in Pompey’s FA Cup final defeat to Chelsea in 2010, is looking for a route back into professional football having recently taken a break from the game to appear on reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother.

And it appears former boss Lee Clark, who O’Hara played under at Blackpool two seasons ago, is willing to offer that opportunity to the 30-year-old at Bury.

The former England Under-21 international most recently played for Gillingham at the start of the season, making two substitute appearances for the Kent club.
