Still top of the league then.

It was a good, grinding performance after an excellent goal from Ronan Curtis.

You have to say, it was a long-lasting 45 minutes and there was a stoppage-time clearance off the line, but apart from that we weren't troubled.

Coventry themselves defended pretty doggedly in what was a close game which could have been a draw '“ but Curtis' moment of brilliant settled it.

We looked composed and pretty calm, although could have done better with the amount of set-pieces we had throughout.

Who was your man of the match?

Nathan Thompson was absolutely quality. He shut them down so well, there were so many good clearances.

He played out of his skin, while the other members of the back four were also really composed.

Yet Thompson contained Coventry down their left, which was their most dangerous side.

A disappointing reunion for Michael Doyle then?

I didn't really notice him, I don't think any Coventry players stood out.

He was a workmanlike player for us who took us to the League Two title, which was fantastic, and I liked him.

But Pompey have upgraded since in a major way and it shows. Doyle wouldn't make the team now, I'm afraid.

Was there really a chant about being '˜invincible'?

Yes! I get nervous being top of the league in October, but people are feeling pretty confident.

It was a 50/50 match and we nicked it with a bit of class and then heroically defended.

The fans were fantastic in what's an odd ground, looking out on a sea of blue seats and a completely empty stand opposite.

It's like being in a ghost stadium. Pretty depressing.
