This afternoon's 2-1 victory at Peterborough ensured Kenny Jackett's men clambered above their hosts to reach the table's summit.

With other results going their way, the Blues now also sit five points ahead of third spot, albeit at this early stage of the season.

Goals from Oli Hawkins and Jamal Lowe in the second half secured a Pompey victory over the previously undefeated Posh.

But assistant boss Gallen was not getting carried away,

He said: '˜You can't really take any notice of being top, it's just September, we are in the middle of September.

'˜It did have a feel of a big game, but you can't have a big game in September, big games come at the end of the season '“ and hopefully we're going to have a lot of big games as we go into March and April.

'˜It's great to come out on top in the feeling of a big game, but really it's very early stages.

'˜We deserved it. As always in football, if you get the first goal it does give you a hell of an edge.

'˜The game was probably on a bit of a knife edge, playing against Peterborough there is a physical side to their game, the ball goes from back to front quickly.

'˜They don't need too many touches before the ball hits the back of the net, it's long ball forwards, win a header, it drops and and bang they can score.

'˜Our defenders played very, very well today, they won a lot of headers, but I just think we had a little bit extra on the ball than Peterborough, and we said that at half-time.'
