Hawks’ top two goalscorers of all time head the club’s list of FA Cup marksmen

Rocky Baptiste and James Taylor are joint-top of the list of Havant & Waterlooville FA Cup marksmen.

Both strikers have scored 11 goals in the competition for the club since it was formed 22 years ago.

Taylor is the Hawks’ record goalscorer, with 133 competitive strikes in six seasons after arriving at Westleigh Park in the summer of 1999.

His first FA Cup goal for the club was against Langney Sports in his first season - part of a 37-goal haul in all competitions.

His best FA Cup season was in 2002/03, when he netted four times - bagging 31 goals in all competitions in a campaign which also saw the club reach the semi-finals of the FA Trophy for the first time.

Baptiste is Hawks’ second highest scorer of all time, with 80 competitive goals.

They include an FA Cup brace in a 4-1 replay win against Eastleigh in 2005/06, and four during the memorable 2007/08 run to the fourth round - including scoring in both third round ties against Swansea.

Former Portsmouth player Paul Wood is next in the Hawks’ all-time FA Cup goals list with eight.

His haul includes the club’s first ever hat-trick in the competition, against Witham in 1998-99 - part of a 26-goal seasonal haul.

Matt Paterson has six goals, including a hat-trick against Highworth in 2016/17, while Jason Prior, Tim Hambley and James Hayter all have five.

Of the current players at Westleigh Park, both Tommy Wright and Roarie Deacon have scored three times in this season's run to the second round.
