Hawkins picked up a knee problem in the 13th minute of the loss, as he challenged Tangerines keeper Joe Lumley.

Nevertheless, Jackett has dismissed fears over the former Dagenham & Redbridge talent's setback and is optimistic he will be available for the visit to the Bantams.

The Pompey boss said: 'It was a contact injury, first with their goalkeeper then he got another bang on it.

'It was progressively getting worse then felt it was too bad to carry on.

'We hope it clears up quickly, with obviously Brett Pitman out.

'We're hopeful he's back for this weekend, it doesn't seem too bad.'
