The 31-year-old American has recently been training with Rotherham in a bid to earn a deal.

However, he has now arrived at Fratton Park as Paul Cook continues to hunt for a new experienced goalkeeper.

While Konopka is attempting to impress, Michael Crowe and Chris Sessegnon have departed the club.

Sessegnon featured in Pompey’s first four matches of their pre-season, yet was among those who didn’t impress in Saturday’s defeat at Sutton United.

As for keeper Crowe, Cook has opted to look elsewhere with Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy wanting the youngster to only go out on loan to a club unless he is a number one.

In the meantime, Noel Hunt remains on trial and was named in tonight’s starting XI at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium while another triallist former Gillingham midfielder Amine Linganzi was among the substitutes.
